Lorna Dockstader SFCA PPC

Lorna Dockstader was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1947 and has resided in Calgary since 1972. She was previously employed full-time, as a geophysical technologist, and during these years, also began showing her work in galleries.She was elected a senior signature member of the Federation of Canadian artists (Vancouver) and was designated as a Premier Pastellist of Canada by the Pastel Society of Canada (Ottawa). Lorna recently became a member of Landscape Artists International. Working in pastels, watercolors, oils or acrylics gives her the variety and diversity she enjoys, as does her plein-air outings. Her studies in pastels began in 1954, and she studied oils while in attendance at the University of Alberta, from 1967-1969. She has been represented in commercial galleries since 1991.
